My daughters afghan

Here is the progress I've made on my daughters afghan so far. It's more than halfway done. I made it with Caron's Simply soft yarn in teal, yellow and black. Those are her colors.

Miranda Tagged me!

Each person tagged gives 7 random facts about themselves. Those tagged need to write in their blogs 7 facts, as well as the rules of the game. You need to tag seven others and list their names on your blog. You have to leave those you plan on tagging a note in their comments so they know that they have been tagged and to read your blog. Here are my facts:

1) I have been married for 22 years to a wonderful man.
2) I have two children. A daughter 20 and a son 17.
3) I volunteer and am on committees with our local library. I love books!
4) I live in a semi rural area and have a beautiful view of Amish farms all around me.
5) I love working in my flower beds. It's very peaceful.
6) I have the most wonderful, fun, adorable, sweet and loving little 3 year old Great Niece in the whole world.
7) I like candles very much. I'm always burning them.

I will post my tags as soon as I figure out who they are. LOL

Not up to par

I haven't posted my daughters afghan yet because I've been sick and also on Monday I had to put one of my cats to sleep. Such a sad day. I had him for 12 years and it was unexpected. I cried on and off all day Monday. I received a very nice simpathy card from my vets office yesterday and it said that I did the right thing and that he is now comfortable and happy. I thought that was so nice.

Now I'm back with problems with my acid reflux and hiatal hernia. I've been in alot of pain for the past 5 days and today I have an appointment with my doctor. I'm so uncomfortable and feel lousy.

I haven't crocheted much since I'm not feeling to great. I will try to post a picture of the afghan later today if I feel up to it.

Making a round ripple afghan

Well I am working on a round ripple afghan for my daughter. I've owed her an afghan oh, for about a year now. So I got started on it lastnight and it's turning out really pretty. She wanted it in Turquois, black and yellow. I'm using Caron's Simply soft. It's coming out nice. I'll post a picture of my progress tomorrow.

My allergies are starting to get to me. Haven't been feeling up to par today. The pollen is flying everywhere! I feel like one of the 7 Dwarfs. Just call me Sneezy. Now that I think about it. I think I have some of all of the 7 Dwarfs in me. Hmmmmm.

Hi All!!

I have to apologize for not being around in the past week. We had our local library plant sale Saturday. It went very well. I bought lots of pretty flowers. LOL. I couldn't help myself. Not to be able to buy flowers when they're right in front of you? That's like giving a child a lolipop and telling them not to eat it! Hahahaha. It was alot of work but we did very well. I really enjoyed being on the plant sale committee. I met some really nice people and they were fun to work with.

In between times I've had a crochet hook in my hand but nothing finished yet. I'm trying to decide what I would like to make next. Hmmmm. I will keep you posted on that.

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!

Crochet baby hats

Here is what I've been working on in between the blanket. Little crochet baby hats! Aren't they cute!!!! They are for baby size 0-6 months. Gosh I'm gonna be a pro at crocheting baby things by the time my kids have children. LOL. I really like this hat style since it's crocheted in the front post and back post stitch. Gives it more give and elasticity. I made them in Bernat Softee Baby yarn.

Blue blanket

I had to take a picture of the progress I've done on my blue baby blanket since it's taking me so long. LOL. I don't want you all to think I'm pulling your leg. I'm halfway done. I am using Lion Brand Pound of Love. It looks purplish in the picture but it's really a pretty blue. I keep switching back and forth with the blanket and other crochet items I'm working on.

Still working on that afghan

I haven't had a ton of time in the past few days to crochet on my blue baby blanket. I am involved in a few committees for our local library. I've been on my toes and going and doing. We are having a plant sale fundraiser on April 28 and so as the date gets closer the more there is to do. I'm also on the Friends of the Library committee and volunteered last week to become the secretary. Soooo I'm trying to stay organized with all the different things going on. LOL. Plus I'm trying to get things made to put on my Etsy store. Head? Spinning? Ummmmm, just a little. On top of all that I just started up a website to sell my crochet. It's called Shari's Handmade Crochet. Check it out and let me know what you think so far. I've got alot to add but it's a beginning.

Working on a boy afghan

I started to work on a little boy afghan. It's done in the crazy stitch which is really easy. I'm doing it in Lions Brand Pound of Love in a nice blue color. I'm about a quarter of the way done it. I thought it was going to be raining and miserable here all day but instead it was almost 60 and really nice so I worked outside in my flower beds. Those weeds!!! Whew!!! Getting it ready for mulching.

I guess I better get moving if I want to get this afghan done and move on to the next crochet project I want to work on. I wish I had 400 fingers like one of my friends has cause she is so fast at crocheting!!!

Water Bottle Holder

I crocheted these awesome water bottle holders. You can see another one in my etsy store pics on the right here. I got the idea for the pattern from Nadias Crochet site. I made the ones I'm selling a bit taller and did it with a shell stitch instead of a V stitch. I just had to have one for myself too! LOVE IT!!!! I used Peaches and Cream crochet cotton. You can also use worsted weight yarn.

Happy Easter!!!

I wanted to say Happy Easter to everyone!!!! I've got a houseful of family and more coming in a little bit. My ham is cooking and my roast smells awesome. I love having my family with me on the holidays!! Haven't had alot of time for crocheting the last few days. Enjoying time with my daughter who flew in from Florida. She wants me to crochet her a hobo bag with crochet cotton. I guess I better get working on that one. Tomorrow we will go shopping for the cotton yarn and then she has to leave in the afternoon. These last few days just flew by. I can't believe it's almost time for her to leave already.

Enjoy your day and don't eat to much candy!!!! LOL

Crocheting Away!

Well I've been crocheting a cell phone/i pod case. I used worsted weight yarn in green and it came out very nice! I think I want to crochet another one but in crochet cotton yarn. I'm always digging through my purse when my cell phone rings and usually never catch it before the person hangs up. This way I can hang it on my purse and never dig again. I love crocheting! You can make such great items and use such awesome yarn brands!!!

Squares

Here are my squares that I made for this months square swap. I've got them done, in the envelopes and ready to send to my two swap friends.

The green one is a pattern I got off the internet called Butterfly Garden made by Chris Simon. The blue one I made from a Leisure Arts book called 99 Granny Squares to crochet.

My Birdfeeder

I bought this birdfeeder in November that I could attach to my kitchen window so I could watch the birds eat. Well this is one of the best things I ever did! I love watching the birds eating and chirping. I can almost touch them! Their a bit scared though and if I move they fly away. There are several different types of birds that come and visit me. I had a beautiful cardinal show up today. My hubby thinks I'm nuts. Everytime he comes in the kitchen and there are birds at the feeder I tell him to "stop!" "Don't move!" Look at the pretty birds. He just shakes his head at me. LOL. Now I want a larger size to attach to the window!

What day is it?

Gosh I can't believe how the days fly by lately! Here I am working on my dishcloths and thought I had more time before I had to make my 2 squares for the Delightful Discloth swap. They need to be out by the 15th and here it is the 5th!!! They don't take long and I only need to make 2 but I don't like waiting til last minute. I guess I better get moving on them.

I am also involved in our local libraries flower fundraiser. It's in April and I made up the flyers for it this year. This is the first time for me with this fundraiser since we just moved to this town. I am enjoying helping out. I need to print out 550 of these flyers and am waiting on one more thing I might need to add to the flyer. I have to have 350 printed out in another week to give to the boro manager so he can have them put in with the water bill for people to see. I hope I am contacted soon about adding to the flyer. Hmmmmm.
